Prostate SBA treatment is based on the principle of heat delivery to the prostate tissue. This method involves a radiofrequency device and a disposable probe connected to this device. The radiofrequency device generates heat and converts the energy into hot water vapor, which is transmitted into the prostate tissue through the probe. High temperature water vapor vaporizes the prostate cells that it comes into contact with and causes tissue loss in that area. The affected tissues shrink over time, leading to a decrease in prostate volume, while the obstruction that prevents urine flow disappears. Prostate SBA method is performed under local anesthesia without the need for general anesthesia and the patient can return home on the same day. In the prostate SBA method , depending on the size of the prostate tissue, hot water vapor is injected into the prostate tissue through a special needle in the probe into two or more areas. Each injection takes an average of 9 seconds and the whole procedure takes 15 – 20 minutes in total. With the hot vapor applied into the prostate, the prostate cells heat up rapidly and after this rapid heating, the cooling cycle kills the growing prostate cells. Consequently, the prostate volume shrinks over time. Fill out the form below for your information requests
