Acıbadem Healthcare Group, a leading provider of cancer treatment in Türkiye, has been offering a comprehensive and individualized range of treatment options for both adults and children diagnosed with all types and stages of cancer for the past 25 years. Our goal is to eradicate the tumor while protecting healthy tissues, thereby enabling patients to lead healthy lives. At Acıbadem, surgeons, radiation oncologists, and medical oncologists collaborate closely to provide comprehensive care and achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
At Acıbadem, a full range of systemic therapies is available for cancer treatment. Systemic therapies are often used to treat cancers that have spread beyond their original site. These medicines are delivered through pills, injections, or intravenous infusion.
A 68-year-old male patient applied to our clinic with a complaint of facial paralysis. Computed tomography revealed that he had a tumor in the brain and a biopsy showed that it had metastasized from lung cancer. We immediately started to apply chemotherapy for lesions in the lung and radiotherapy for lesions in the brain. However, after 4 cures, it is detected that the lesions are progressing. It means that the tumor was resistant to chemotherapy. At that point, Acıbadem's expert oncology team decided to continue treatment with immunotherapy rather than conventional chemotherapy. The patient received immunotherapy medicines for 2 years. During the treatment, it was observed that all lesions were shrunk in the third month of the treatment and in the eighth month the masses had almost completely disappeared. Today, the patient has been cancer-free for more than 4 years which is wonderful.
