Mehmet Ufuk Abacıoğlu

Prof. Mehmet Ufuk Abacıoğlu is a radiation oncologist with a medical degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine (1997). He has extensive clinical and leadership experience in radiation oncology and neuro-oncology, and currently practices with Acibadem Health Group (2024). He has held significant roles in national and international professional societies, including Secretary General and Board Member of the Turkish Society of Radiation Oncology, Chairman of the Turkish Oncology Group’s Central Nervous System Working Group (2007–2010), and leadership positions within the Neurooncology Society (Vice President 2013–2015, President 2015). He served on the Board of Directors and Executive Board of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology (EANO) from 2010 to 2014. Prof. Abacıoğlu is active in multiple professional organizations: EORTC Radiation Oncology Group, ASTRO, ASCO, ESTRO, the Turkish Lung Cancer Association (TCA), and the Rare Cancer Network. In recognition of his contributions he received an honorary membership from the Romanian Urological Society in June 2015. His work focuses on advancing radiation therapy practice, multidisciplinary cancer care, and research in neuro-oncology and thoracic malignancies.
