Kadir Uçar, MD

Kadir Uçar, MD is a radiation oncologist at Acibadem Kayseri Hospital in Kayseri, where he works in the Radiation Oncology unit. He has more than 35 years in medicine. He completed his specialty training in radiation oncology at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 2005 and then worked in the Radiation Oncology department of Kayseri Training and Research Hospital from 2005 to 2009. In 2009 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services. He is a member of the Radyasyon Onkolojisi Association and the Turkish Medical Association.

Clinical focus

Dr. Uçar’s practice is dedicated to radiation therapy as part of cancer care. Radiation oncology involves assessing whether radiotherapy is appropriate for a given patient, planning the treatment in relation to the tumor and the surrounding healthy tissue, and following the patient during and after the course of treatment. This work is carried out in coordination with the other specialists involved in a patient’s care, such as surgeons and medical oncologists.

Within this field, his areas of expertise include head and neck cancers, brain tumors, gastrointestinal oncology and breast cancer radiotherapy. For each of these, the role of radiotherapy, its timing and its combination with other treatments depend on the type and stage of the disease and on the individual patient’s situation. How Dr. Uçar works with international patients

Dr. Uçar consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior medical reports and imaging, arranges appointments and organizes the hospital stay.
