International Team of Experts in the Field
At IJC, we are committed to redefining excellence in joint care through innovation, expertise, and a relentless focus on patient well-being.

The International Joint Center at Acibadem was Founded in 2024
By a team of internationally renowned surgeons: Prof. Javad Parvizi (USA), Prof. Samih Tarabichi (Dubai), Prof. Remzi Tozun (Türkiye), and Prof. Ibrahim Tuncay (Türkiye). These leaders bring decades of experience in orthopedic surgery and joint replacement, and the Center was established to deliver on Mehmet Ali Aydınlar’s vision of excellence in care and a patient-first approach.
For patients, this means access to high-quality, evidence-based care for conditions of the knee and hip — from joint preservation and minimally invasive procedures to knee replacement and hip replacement surgery. Our multidisciplinary teams coordinate individualized treatment plans, whether the goal is to reduce pain, restore mobility, or plan a replacement surgery. Details about our surgeons’ specialties and published work are available on request — or visit the “Meet Our Surgeons” page to learn more and request a consultation for replacement knee surgery or other treatment options.
Health Care offered at the International Joint Centre
At IJC, we believe every patient is unique. Our approach includes:
Comprehensive preoperative imaging, including full-body radiographic scans to ensureprecise joint replacement planning. The use of high-quality, U.S.-manufactured joint replacement components. Advanced enabling technologies, such as robotic-assisted surgery and navigation systems, to ensure precision. Minimally invasive surgical methods to reduce recovery time and enhance patient comfort. Tailored postoperative rehabilitation, featuring skilled nursing care and personalized physical therapy plans.

Hip Replacement
Artificial prostheses are placed in the hip joints to restore mobility.

Knee Replacement
An artificial prosthesis is placed in the knee joint to relieve pain and restore mobility.

Robotic Orthopedic Surgery
High precision robotic orthopedic surgeries are performed.

Regenerative Medicine
Body tissues and the healing process are accelerated by biological methods.
International Joint Center
Our Mission
IJC was established to realize Mehmet Ali Aydınlar’s vision by delivering modern, evidence-based, and effective clinical care. We put the patient first: every treatment plan is individualized to reduce pain, restore mobility, and help patients return to daily life with improved quality.
Our patient pathway is designed for clarity and results:
- Assessment & diagnosis — comprehensive evaluation of the damaged joint, imaging and specialist review to select the right treatment methods.
- Individualized planning — shared decision-making to choose conservative treatments, joint preservation techniques, or replacement surgery such as knee replacement or hip replacement.
- Surgery & perioperative care — evidence-based surgical techniques, pain control, and monitoring to minimize risks and support healing.
- Rehabilitation & recovery — structured physiotherapy and support aimed at restoring mobility and returning patients to daily activities within an expected recovery period.
Typical outcomes we aim for include reduced pain, improved mobility, and a higher quality of life. Exact recovery periods vary by procedure and patient factors — for many patients, meaningful return to daily activities occurs over several months with dedicated rehabilitation. For details on expected timelines, treatment options, and potential risks, request a consultation to discuss an individualized plan.
Research & Innovation
IJC collaborates closely with Acibadem University on pioneering research that directly informs clinical treatments and surgical techniques for joint care. Our work focuses on areas that can change how we treat the damaged joint and improve recovery, prosthesis design, and long-term outcomes for hip and knee patients.
- Genomics — identifying genetic markers that help predict patient response to treatments and guide personalized treatment methods for joint disease.
- Microbiomics — exploring microbial factors that affect joint inflammation and healing after surgery, with implications for postoperative recovery and infection prevention.
- Tissue regeneration — developing scaffolds, biologics, and protocols to enhance healing and reduce the need for replacement surgery when possible.
- Joint preservation — advanced diagnostics and minimally invasive techniques that aim to delay or avoid knee replacement where appropriate.
- AI & machine learning — designing predictive models to improve surgical planning, prosthesis sizing, and the overall treatment process for hip knee cases.
Breakthrough innovations from Acibadem’s scientists have led to novel prosthesis designs and improved treatment methods that benefit patients’ recovery and long-term function. For details about ongoing clinical trials, prosthesis options, or how research may influence your treatment plan—ask our team or visit the Research & Trials page to learn more. At the International Joint Center (IJC), our aim is clear: restore mobility, reduce pain, and help patients return to daily life with a better quality of life. Whether you are considering conservative treatment methods or planning a knee replacement or hip replacement, our teams guide you through each step of the treatment process—from preoperative assessment and surgery to rehabilitation and long-term follow-up.
Typical recovery periods vary by procedure and individual factors; many patients begin physiotherapy within days of surgery and see meaningful improvements over several months. Healing timelines, risks, and expected activities will be discussed during consultation so you have clear details about what to expect for a replacement knee or other surgery. For personalized recommendations, treatment details, or to request a consultation with our surgeons about knee replacement surgery or hip procedures, contact IJC’s patient services — we’ll help you plan the best path back to daily activities and improved life.
