Prof. Ahmet Alponat is a seasoned surgeon and academic with a long-standing commitment to patient care, education, and minimally invasive surgery. He earned his medical degree from Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine and advanced through the academic ranks to become a professor in 2003. Since 2008 he has been affiliated with Acibadem Health Group, where he continues to practice and teach. His clinical interests focus on endoscopic and laparoscopic techniques, with a particular emphasis on hernia surgery and oncologic procedures. He is active in both national and regional professional communities, holding memberships in the National Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Society, the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery Association of Turkey, and Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia. He also contributes locally through the Kocaeli Surgical Association, Kocaeli Medical Chamber, and Kocaeli Cancer Association, and is a member of the National Surgical Association and the Hernia Association. Prof. Alponat combines academic leadership with hands-on surgical expertise, mentoring the next generation of surgeons while maintaining high standards of clinical care.
