In the anorectal field, his areas of expertise include hemorrhoid and anorectal disease treatment, hemorrhoid surgery and anal fissure. In digestive system surgery, he manages conditions such as small intestine cancer and cholecystitis, an inflammation of the gallbladder. His practice also covers abdominal wall hernias, including inguinal hernia and umbilical hernia, as well as thyroid surgery and mastectomy.

He has co-authored a number of publications with colleagues, several of which appear in the British Journal of Surgery. These address topics such as e-TEP repair of abdominal wall hernias, laparoscopic repair of recurrent cases after laparoscopic hernia surgery, Nuck cysts treated with the TEP technique, laparoscopic surgical approaches in colon and rectal cancer, emergency abdominal wall hernias and minimally invasive surgery, and a case of gallbladder duplication treated laparoscopically. Earlier work includes studies on colonic anastomotic healing and the role of drainage in colorectal anastomoses, along with book chapters on colorectal neuroendocrine tumors and robotic surgery in achalasia.

How Dr. Babür works with international patients

Dr. Babür consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
