Prof. İftahar Köksal is an experienced physician specializing in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology. He earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in 1992 and has since built a career focused on infection prevention, liver disease, and clinical microbiology. In 2022 he joined Acibadem Health Group, where he contributes clinical expertise and patient care. He is an active member of several professional societies, including the Turkish Society for Hospital Infections and Control, the Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialty Society of Turkey, and the Association for the Fight Against Viral Hepatitis. His international memberships include the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the European Association for the Study of the Liver. Prof. Köksal combines a strong clinical background with engagement in professional organizations to support best practices in infection control, hepatology, and clinical microbiology.
