Prof. Oğuzhan Karatepe is a board-certified general surgeon with a strong focus on minimally invasive and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, complex hernia repair, surgical oncology, and perioperative nutritional care. He completed a clinical appointment at Memorial Şişli Hospital (2014–2018) and currently practices with Acıbadem Health Group (since 2025), bringing advanced surgical techniques and multidisciplinary care to patients with complex abdominal and oncologic conditions. His clinical interests include laparoscopic and endoscopic approaches, enhanced recovery after surgery, management of peritoneal surface malignancies, bariatric and metabolic procedures, and evidence-based approaches to surgical infection and enteral/parenteral nutrition. He is active in trauma and emergency surgery and regularly treats complicated colorectal and hepatopancreatobiliary cases. He is a member of numerous national and international professional societies, reflecting a commitment to continuous learning, collaborative research, and surgical education. Affiliations include the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery, European Hernia Society, European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA), American College of Surgeons (ACS), Surgical Infection Society (founder and board member), Surgical Infection Society Europe (SIS-E), and multiple Turkish surgical and specialty associations such as the Turkish Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery Association, Turkish Society of Colon and Rectum Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery Association, Hernia Association, KEPAN, and the Turkish Medical and Surgical Associations. He is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through minimally invasive techniques, multidisciplinary teamwork, and rigorous attention to perioperative nutrition and infection control.
