Prof. Mehtap Çakır is a seasoned endocrinologist with a strong clinical and academic background. She completed her specialist training in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine in 2003. Currently affiliated with Acıbadem Health Group since 2023, she combines patient care with active involvement in research and scholarly work. She serves on the editorial board of the European Thyroid Journal, the official publication of the European Thyroid Association (since 2023), and on the editorial board of Endocrinology Research and Clinical Practice, the official journal of the Turkish Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (since 2022). Her professional memberships include the European Society of Endocrinology (since 2007), the American Endocrine Society (since 2007), the European Thyroid Association (since 2008), and the Turkish Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (since 2000). Prof. Çakır’s work focuses on endocrine disorders, with particular interest in thyroid disease and metabolic conditions. She is committed to advancing clinical practice through research, education, and active participation in international and national endocrine societies.
