Prof. Emre Bozkırlı, MD

Prof. Emre Bozkırlı, MD is an endocrinologist in the Endocrinology & Metabolism unit at Acibadem Health Group, which he joined in 2018. His clinical work centers on obesity, insulin resistance, polycystic ovary syndrome, acromegaly, and other hormonal and metabolic disorders.

Dr. Bozkırlı graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2000 and completed his training in Internal Medicine at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2004. He then completed subspecialty training in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at Başkent University Faculty of Medicine in 2007. Before joining Acibadem Health Group, he worked at Gata Haydarpasa Training Hospital, Adana Cukurova State Hospital, and Sanliurfa State Hospital. His published work includes a hospital-based study on the validity of the World Health Organization’s obesity body mass index criteria in a Turkish population, a paper describing a new perspective in diagnosing polycystic ovary syndrome, and a report of five acromegalic patients treated with lanreotide autogel together with a literature review of insulin sensitivity markers. All three papers were published in 2007.

Dr. Bozkırlı sees adults with a range of endocrine and metabolic conditions. A significant part of his practice involves obesity and insulin resistance, where assessment typically considers weight history, metabolic laboratory findings, and any related conditions before a management plan is discussed. He also evaluates and treats women with polycystic ovary syndrome, a condition in which hormonal and metabolic features often overlap and may require coordinated follow-up.

In addition, Dr. Bozkırlı manages patients with acromegaly, a pituitary condition caused by excess growth hormone, which calls for careful hormonal evaluation and ongoing monitoring.
