Prof. Tayyar Sarioğlu is a distinguished pediatric cardiovascular surgeon with a long record of clinical leadership, education, and professional service. He completed his Board of Specialization in Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery in 2011 and has held prominent academic and administrative roles, including Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Acıbadem University since 2009. A committed educator and scholar, he served as an editor of the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery from 1992 to 1997 and was awarded a Fulbright US Education Scholarship in 1985. He is the founder and president of the Istanbul Heart Surgery Foundation (established 1995), demonstrating sustained dedication to advancing cardiac care and training. Prof. Sarioğlu is an active member of leading national and international societies: the European Society of Cardiology, World Society of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery, American Association for the Advancement of Science, European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, New York Academy of Sciences, Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, Turkish Society of Cardiology, and Turkish Society of Pediatric Cardiology.
