Prof. Alev Gürgün is a chest physician with a medical degree from Ege University Faculty of Medicine (1999). With a career dedicated to respiratory health, Alev currently serves at Acibadem Health Group (2025), bringing extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary diseases. Alev is actively involved in professional organizations that shape respiratory care and policy. She chairs the COPD Working Group of the Turkish Thoracic Society and holds memberships in the Lung Cancer Association, the European Respiratory Society (ERS), and the Turkish Medical Association. Her leadership in COPD care and engagement with national and international societies reflect a commitment to improving outcomes for patients with chronic and malignant lung conditions.
