He joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2017. He is a member of the Lung Health and Intensive Care Association, the Türk Toraks Association and the Turkish Medical Association. His published work includes a study of inhaler usage technique and patient satisfaction with a budesonide/formoterol fixed-combination dry powder inhaler in COPD, drawn from daily clinical practice in Turkey, and a study of the acceptability of the pandemic H1N1 influenza vaccine among children and healthcare workers.

Clinical focus

Dr. Turan evaluates and manages a range of airway and lung conditions. Chronic airway disease is a central part of his practice, including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Reflecting his subspecialty interest in immunology and allergic diseases, he also assesses allergic and immune-related respiratory complaints. He sees patients with pulmonary embolism, pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary fibrosis, conditions in which a careful review of existing imaging and prior test results usually precedes any discussion of options.

Sleep-related breathing disorders form another part of his work. He evaluates patients with sleep apnea, and polysomnography (sleep testing) is among the diagnostic procedures within his expertise. He also performs bronchoscopy, which may be used in the assessment of airway disease and in the evaluation of suspected lung cancer and other thoracic cancers. How Dr. Turan works with international patients
