Prof. Selami Çakmak is an experienced orthopedic surgeon and associate professor with a strong background in sports injuries, arthroscopy, knee surgery, and joint arthroplasty. After earning his associate professorship from Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Haydarpaşa Training Hospital in 2016, he continued to advance clinical care and education, joining Acibadem Health Group in 2025. He is an active member of several national and international professional societies, including the Turkish Sports Injuries, Arthroscopy and Knee Surgery Association; the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association and its Education Council; the Hip Knee Arthroplasty Association; and the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA). His work focuses on improving patient outcomes in orthopedic trauma, knee preservation and reconstruction, and joint replacement through clinical practice, research, and education.
