Asst. Prof. Yiğit Umur Cırdı, MD

Asst. Prof. Yiğit Umur Cırdı, MD is a specialist in Orthopedic Surgery & Traumatology at Acibadem Atasehir Hospital in İstanbul, where he practices within the Orthopedics & Joint Center. He has co-authored publications in journals including Operative Orthopädie und Traumatologie, Indian Journal of Orthopaedics, The Kuwait medical journal, Erciyes Med J and TOTBID Journal, on topics such as prone position knee arthroscopy with gel-type autologous chondrocyte implantation, compartment syndrome in children, the treatment of relapsed and neglected pes equinovarus, classification systems in clubfoot patients treated by the Ponseti method, and Akin osteotomy.

Clinical focus

Dr. Cırdı’s clinical work covers orthopedic trauma and a range of knee and joint injuries. He assesses and treats meniscus tears and cruciate ligament injuries, and his practice includes sports medicine and sports traumatology. Treatment recommendations in these areas depend on the individual patient’s findings, imaging and functional needs, and may involve non-surgical management or surgery depending on the case.

In joint replacement, he performs hip replacement surgery and knee replacement surgery for patients whose joint condition is considered appropriate for these procedures after clinical and radiological evaluation. He also undertakes foot and ankle surgery. Whether a particular procedure is suitable is determined case by case, after a review of the patient’s history, examination findings and available imaging.

How Dr. Cırdı works with international patients
