Prof. Burak Akan is a Professor of Orthopedics and Traumatology based in Ankara. He completed his medical training at Ufuk University Faculty of Medicine and earned his professorship in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2019. M.D. Akan is currently affiliated with Acibadem Health Group, where he continues clinical practice and patient care. He is an active member of multiple professional organizations, including the Ankara Medical Chamber, Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association (TOTBID) and its Sports Traumatology Branch, the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT), and the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Education and Research Council (TOTEK). His specialist interests are reflected in memberships with the Turkish Sports Injuries, Arthroscopy and Knee Surgery Association (TUSYAD), the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy (ESSKA), and the Hip Knee Arthroplasty Association.
