Assoc. Prof. Nezih Ziroğlu, MD

Assoc. Prof. Nezih Ziroğlu, MD is a specialist in Orthopedic Surgery & Traumatology at Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul, where he practices within the Orthopedics & Joint Center. After qualifying, he worked as a Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Kars Harakani State Hospital in 2019 and at Beylikdüzü State Hospital from 2019 to 2022. In 2022 he completed the Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Fellowship Program at the University of Modena in Modena, Italy, with Prof Giuseppe Porcellini, and in the same year he joined Acibadem Atakent Hospital, where he continues to practice. He is a member of AO (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen) Trauma, the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA) / European Shoulder Association (ESA), the European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC), the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association (TOTBİD), the Turkish Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Association (TODCD), the Turkish Sports Injuries Arthroscopy and Knee Surgery Association (TUSYAD) and the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association (TOTDER). His published work includes studies on proximal humerus fracture fixation, fibular fixation in distal tibiofibular fractures, functional results after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and syndesmotic stability in ankle fractures.

Clinical focus

Dr. Ziroğlu’s clinical work centers on shoulder and elbow surgery, sports traumatology, and knee and joint injuries, including meniscus tears and cruciate ligament ruptures. Patients with shoulder or elbow problems may be evaluated for elbow surgery or other treatment options depending on the findings. In joint replacement, he performs hip replacement surgery and knee replacement surgery for patients whose joint condition is assessed as suitable for these procedures.

His practice also covers foot and ankle surgery and minimally invasive trauma surgery. Whether a surgical or non-surgical approach is appropriate depends on the individual diagnosis, imaging findings and the patient’s overall health, and this is discussed with each patient after a clinical assessment.

How Dr. Ziroğlu works with international patients

Dr. Ziroğlu consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages.
