Prof. Metin Ertem is a seasoned general surgeon with a medical degree from Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine (1991). Since 2004 he has been affiliated with Acibadem Health Group, where he has provided advanced surgical care with a focus on minimally invasive techniques. He is actively involved in the surgical community through multiple leadership and membership roles. He serves as President of the Hernia Association and has held the presidency of the Turkish Cancer Foundation. He was the 2nd President of the National Endoscopic-Laparoscopic Surgery Association and is a board member of the Istanbul Surgical Association. Internationally, he is a member of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery and the International Society of Surgery, and also contributes to the Turkish Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Prof. Ertem is recognized for his expertise in endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures and for his commitment to surgical education, professional leadership, and improving patient outcomes.
