Prof. Bahattin Çiçek, MD

Prof. Bahattin Çiçek, MD is a gastroenterology specialist at Acibadem Maslak Hospital in İstanbul, where he practices within the Gastroenterology unit. His published work includes studies on endoscopic retrograde cholangiography by double balloon enteroscopy in patients with Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy, endoscopic therapy of hydatid cyst disease, Barrett’s esophagus, and the prevalence of irritable bowel syndrome in primary health care institutions in Turkey.

Clinical focus

Dr. Çiçek evaluates and manages inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as celiac disease. His practice also includes liver diseases, pancreatic diseases and biliary tract diseases, and common upper digestive complaints such as reflux, gastritis and dyspepsia.

On the procedural side, his areas of expertise include diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) for conditions of the bile ducts and pancreas, and balloon dilation. He also provides assessment and treatment planning for hemorrhoids and other anorectal diseases.
