Prof. Barış Kocaoğlu is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist with a strong background in clinical care, education, and sports team medicine. He completed advanced training highlighted by the 2019 ESSKA‑AOSSM Traveling Fellowship, reflecting his commitment to high‑level continuing education and international collaboration. From 2008 to 2013 he served as a lecturer in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Acıbadem University Faculty of Medicine, where he taught and mentored medical students and trainees while maintaining clinical duties. He is actively involved in professional and sports medicine organizations, including membership in ESSKA and KSSTA, and participation in the Hip Arthroscopy and Preventive Joint Surgery Association. He is also a member of ELPA (Euroleague Player Association). In national sports medicine, he serves on the Turkish Basketball Federation medical board and is the team doctor for the men’s national basketball team, providing care for elite athletes and managing injury prevention and return‑to‑play decisions. His practice focuses on orthopedic care for athletes, hip arthroscopy, and preventive joint surgery, blending academic experience with hands‑on sports team medicine.
