Prof. Taner Güneş is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and professor with a strong focus on sports injuries, arthroscopy, knee, shoulder and elbow surgery. He completed his medical education at Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Medicine and earned the title of Professor in 2013. Since 2022 he has been affiliated with Acibadem Health Group, where he continues clinical practice, surgical work, and academic activities. He is an active member of national and international professional societies, including the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association, the Turkish Sports Injuries, Arthroscopy and Knee Surgery Association, and the Turkish Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Association, where he has served as a board member since 2013. His international memberships include the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the International Cartilage Research Society (ICRS), ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy), and SECEC-ESSSE (European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and Elbow), where he contributed as a Website Committee member beginning in 2014. He also served on the board of the Extremity Reconstruction and Ilizarov Methods Association from 2013 to 2015. Prof. Güneş combines extensive surgical experience with ongoing involvement in research, education, and professional service to advance care for patients with complex orthopedic and sports-related conditions.
