Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Ifran, MD

Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Ifran, MD is a hematology specialist who cares for adults with blood disorders. He works in the Hematology Department and in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit – Adult, where he is involved in the evaluation and treatment of adult patients who may be candidates for bone marrow transplantation. Dr. Ifran sees patients at Acibadem Kent Hospital (Izmir) in İzmir and at Acibadem Bodrum Hospital in Muğla, and he has more than 34 years of experience in medicine.

Dr. Ifran graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy Faculty of Medicine in 1992. He then completed specialty training in Internal Medicine at Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 1999, followed by subspecialty training in Hematology at the same institution in 2006. This combination of internal medicine and hematology training underpins his approach to adult patients with blood disorders. He holds the academic title of Associate Professor and joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2023.

How Dr. Ifran works with international patients

Dr. Ifran consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and it arranges appointments and organizes the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options. Video consultation is available for international patients and can be used for an initial discussion or a review of existing records before any decision about traveling to İzmir or Bodrum.
