Arzu Jalılova, MD

Arzu Jalılova, MD is a Pediatric Endocrinology specialist at Acibadem Kent Hospital (Izmir) in İzmir, where she works within the Pediatrics unit with a subspecialty focus on Growth and Adolescence. In 2024, she took part in a European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology programme at Evelina London Children’s Hospital in the United Kingdom, under the mentorship of Alessandra Cocca, beginning in May 2024.

Clinical focus

Dr. Jalılova evaluates and manages a range of pediatric endocrine conditions. These include childhood thyroid disorders, childhood adrenal gland disorders, and pediatric diabetes. She also sees children with childhood obesity, where assessment considers the child’s growth pattern, hormonal status, and individual symptoms.

A substantial part of her practice concerns growth and puberty. She assesses children with growth delay and short stature, as well as those with early puberty and other puberty and growth problems. She also provides care for children with differences in sex development. In each case, the evaluation is tailored to the child’s age, developmental stage, and clinical findings, and any recommendations are discussed with the family in the context of the individual situation.

How Dr. Jalılova works with international patients

Dr. Jalılova consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as laboratory and pathology results, ultrasound, MRI or X-ray reports, previous growth records, and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their child’s situation or review findings before or after a hospital visit.
