B. Belgin Aktaş, MD is a Pediatric Allergy specialist working within the Pediatrics unit at Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul. From 2008 to 2011 she was a Subspecialty Training Assistant in the Department of Pediatric Allergy at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine. Between 2011 and 2013 she practised at Haseki Training and Research Hospital, and she has been part of Acıbadem Healthcare Services since 2013. Dr. Aktaş is a member of the Turkish Medical Association, İstanbul Medical Chamber, the Turkish Allergy and Clinical Immunology Association, EAACI (European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology), the Milli Pediatri Association and the Pediatric Allergy and Asthma Academy Association.

Dr. Aktaş sees children with allergic and immunological conditions. Her work covers pediatric allergy in general, food allergies in children, pediatric immunology and immune system disorders. Her published work reflects these interests. She has co-authored articles on drug allergies in children and on the effect of age at diagnosis in atopic dermatitis on the development of additional allergic disease, both in Turk Arch Ped. Earlier publications include a series of studies on nasal endoscopy, sinusitis and radiology findings in skin test positive and negative asthmatic children, as well as work on Familial Mediterranean Fever, methemoglobinemia after local anesthetic administration, kidney biopsy in children and primary parotid tuberculosis.

The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, arranges appointments and organises the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and symptoms, a review of existing test results, imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options that may be appropriate.
