Prof. Dr. Çağın Şentürk

Prof. Dr. Çağın Şentürk is an interventional neuroradiologist at Acibadem Kent Hospital (Izmir), where he works within the Neurosurgery unit. His practice covers interventional neuroradiology and interventional radiology, with a focus on endovascular, percutaneous and image-guided treatments in the field of vascular interventional radiology. He has more than 24 years of experience in medicine.

Dr. Şentürk graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2002 and completed his radiology training at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in 2007. In 2005 he undertook vascular interventional radiology and interventional neuroradiology training at Erasme Hospital, Universite Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium, and in 2008 he returned to the same institution for a subspecialty fellowship in interventional neuroradiology. Further fellowships followed in Spain, at Juan Canalejo University Hospital in La Coruña (2008) and Gregorio Marañón University Hospital in Madrid (2008–2009). From 2009 to 2011 he worked as an interventional neuroradiology specialist in Madrid at Hospital Ruber Internacional, Quiron University Hospital and the Endovascular and Percutaneous Treatment Service of Hospital Ntra. Sra. Del Rosario. He then joined the University of California, Irvine, working in the Department of Radiological Sciences, Interventional Neuroradiology Unit from 2011 to 2014 and holding an associate professor position from 2013 to 2020. During this period he also worked as an interventional neuroradiology specialist at Tınaztepe Hospital in İzmir (2014–2016). From 2020 to 2025 he was Head of the Department of Interventional Radiology at İzmir Tınaztepe University Galen Hospital, and in 2025 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services.

Clinical focus

Dr. Şentürk’s clinical work centers on interventional neuroradiology and interventional radiology, including vascular interventional radiology. He performs endovascular treatments, percutaneous treatments and other image-guided treatments, in which imaging is used to plan and carry out the procedure. Whether a particular approach is suitable depends on the individual patient’s condition, imaging findings and overall health, and is decided only after a detailed review of the case.

How Dr. Şentürk works with international patients

Dr. Şentürk consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages.
