Uzm. Psk. Doğancan Dursun

Uzm. Psk. Doğancan Dursun is a clinical psychologist in the Psychiatry & Psychology unit at Acibadem Kent Hospital (Izmir) in İzmir. Uzm. Psk. Doğancan Dursun completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology at Cyprus International University in 2015, where he studied on a full scholarship and graduated with a high honor degree. In 2017 he completed his training in Clinical Psychology at Isik University, again graduating with high honors. From 2018 to 2021 he worked as a clinical psychologist at DP Counseling Center, and from 2019 to 2021 he also served as clinical psychologist and institution director at Bilgi Yuvasi. In 2021 he joined Acibadem Healthcare Group.

His clinical work centers on depression and anxiety disorders, panic and phobia treatment, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and trauma and stress-related disorders. International patients are supported by the Acibadem international patient team, which coordinates the collection of prior reports before the visit, including previous psychological or psychiatric evaluations, assessment results, treatment summaries and any relevant medical documentation, and which arranges appointments and organizes the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and current symptoms, a review of previous evaluations and treatments, a clinical assessment and a discussion of the possible options, including whether psychotherapy, further psychological testing or a combined approach with the psychiatry team may be appropriate. Interpreters can be arranged for patients who prefer to communicate in a language other than Turkish, so that the assessment and follow-up sessions can proceed with clear communication between the patient and the psychologist.
