Eda Özdere, DDS

Eda Özdere, DDS is a dentist working in the Dental & Oral Health unit at Acibadem Ankara Hospital in Ankara. Her published work includes a study on the color stability of CAD/CAM fabricated inlays after accelerated artificial aging in the Journal of Prosthodontics, as well as articles on the use of oral appliances in the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.

Clinical focus

Dr. Özdere’s main area of practice is prosthetic dental treatment. This covers the planning and provision of prosthodontic restorations for patients who have lost one or more teeth or whose teeth are damaged. Restorative dentistry is a further part of her work, and her research interest in the color stability of CAD/CAM fabricated inlays reflects this focus on how restorations behave over time. Treatment planning in prosthodontics generally depends on the condition of the remaining teeth, the surrounding bone and soft tissue, and the patient’s expectations, so an individual assessment is carried out before any option is recommended.

A second area of her work is implantology, including the process of osseointegration, in which a dental implant integrates with the surrounding bone. Dr. Özdere is a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO). Her publications also describe the use of oral appliances in patients diagnosed with different stages of obstructive sleep apnea, an area in which prosthodontic techniques are applied to breathing-related conditions. Whether a particular treatment is suitable is determined only after a clinical examination and a review of the relevant imaging.

How Dr. Özdere works with international patients

Dr. Özdere speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as dental X-rays, CT reports, previous treatment records and laboratory results, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
