Egemen Sezen, DDS

Whether a prosthetic approach is appropriate, and which type of prosthesis may be considered, depends on the individual clinical examination, the condition of the remaining teeth and supporting structures, and the patient’s general dental health.

He also works in restorative dentistry, which addresses teeth that have been affected by decay, wear or other damage. Restorative treatment planning generally begins with an assessment of the affected teeth and the surrounding tissues, followed by a discussion of the options that may be suitable for the patient’s situation. Dr. Sezen approaches treatment planning on a case-by-case basis, and patients can expect a clear assessment of their dental needs and a care plan centered on their prosthetic and restorative requirements. Any treatment recommendation is made only after a clinical evaluation, and the expected course of care, including the number of visits that may be required, is explained during the consultation.

How Dr. Sezen works with international patients

Dr. Sezen consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as dental X-rays, CT reports, previous treatment records, laboratory results and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit itself. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous dental treatments, a clinical examination of the teeth and oral tissues, and a discussion of the possible options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation before travelling; however, a final assessment and treatment plan for prosthetic or restorative dental care require an in-person clinical examination.
