Funda Yıldız, MD

Dr. Yıldız graduated from Trakya University Faculty of Medicine in 2014. She began her career as a general practitioner in the Emergency Department of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health Edirne Sultan I.Murat State Hospital (2014–2015), then trained as a research assistant doctor in the Department of Child Health and Diseases at the Republic of Türkiye Trakya University Health Research and Application Center (Hospital) from 2015 to 2019, completing her specialty training at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine Department of Child Health and Diseases in 2019. She subsequently worked as a specialist in child health and diseases at the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health Ordu University Training and Research Hospital (2019) and at the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health İstanbul Haseki Training and Research Hospital (2020–2021), and served as a faculty member doctor at İstinye University Hospital/ Department of Child Health and Diseases from 2021 to 2023. She joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2024. Since 2021 she has been enrolled in the Adolescent Health Doctoral Program at İstanbul University Health Sciences Institute. Her co-authored publications include studies on SARS-CoV-2 infections in children, household tobacco smoke exposure and COVID-19 in children, and transient hyperphosphatasemia of infancy.

Clinical focus

Dr. Yıldız’s clinical work covers child and adolescent health across age groups. In the newborn period, this includes newborn follow-up and the assessment and monitoring of newborn jaundice. She also carries out well-child monitoring, in which growth, feeding, and development are reviewed at routine visits, and she evaluates infants presenting with infant colic.

Her areas of expertise further include common acute illnesses of childhood, such as upper respiratory tract infections in children and croup, as well as the evaluation of developmental disorders in children. Assessment is adapted to the child’s age, and findings and any next steps are discussed with the family.

How Dr. Yıldız works with international patients

Dr. Yıldız consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages.
