Dr. Zeren’s diagnostic work centers on pulmonary and mediastinal pathology, including the assessment of lung and pleural specimens. Her published work in this area addresses the causes of pulmonary granulomas, benign and malignant mesothelial proliferation, and molecular markers such as p16/cdkn2a, EGFR and PDGFR in pleural malignant mesothelioma.
She also evaluates specimens in gynecological and breast pathology, with publications on cervical cytological abnormalities, Müllerian adenosarcoma of the uterine cervix, fallopian tube carcinoma and ovarian carcinoma. Her broader practice includes surgical pathology, cytopathology and transmission electron microscopy, which may be used to examine tissue at the ultrastructural level when this is relevant to a diagnosis.
How Dr. Zeren works with international patients
Dr. Zeren communicates in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages. The Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior pathology reports, slides and imaging, arranges appointments and organises the hospital visit.
