İlkay Toptan Köne, DDS

İlkay Toptan Köne, DDS is a dentist with orthodontics training who practises in the Dental & Oral Health unit at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul. How Dr. Köne works with international patients

Dr. Köne consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example dental X-rays, panoramic or CT images and records of previous dental or orthodontic treatment, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation with Dr. Köne typically covers the patient’s history and current concerns, a review of existing imaging and any previous treatment, a clinical examination of the teeth and jaws, and a discussion of the possible orthodontic options. For patients who are not yet in İstanbul, a video consultation can be arranged as an initial step, during which the available records are reviewed and the general direction of a treatment plan is discussed; a clinical examination in person remains necessary before treatment begins.
