Metin Bozkuş, MD

Metin Bozkuş, MD is a physician in the Emergency Service at Acibadem Bursa Hospital in Bursa, Turkey. Dr. Bozkuş graduated from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine in 1985. He began his professional career at Ankara Numune Hospital, where he worked from 1985 to 1987. From 1989 to 1996 he practised at Manisa Kırkağaç Health Center, and from 1996 to 2009 he worked in the Emergency Department of Bursa State Hospital. In 2014 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services, where he continues to work in the Emergency Service.

Emergency care is by its nature time-sensitive, and the course of treatment depends on the patient’s condition on arrival and on the findings of the clinical examination. Any decision regarding further investigation, observation or referral to another department is made on an individual basis.

How Dr. Bozkuş works with international patients

Dr. Bozkuş speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. For international patients, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, arranges appointments and organizes the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options. Video consultation is available for international patients, which may be used for an initial discussion of a case or for a follow-up conversation once a patient has returned home. In emergency situations, however, care is provided in person within the Emergency Service, where the assessment is focused on urgent symptoms and on the timely management of acute conditions.
