Miraç Ergen, MD

Miraç Ergen, MD is a pediatrician at Acibadem Atakent Hospital in İstanbul, where she works in the Pediatrics unit and provides care for newborns, children and adolescents. From 2019 to 2024 she was a physician at the Child Health and Diseases Outpatient Clinic of Medical Park Bahçelievler Hospital and, for a period, held responsibility for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Between 2024 and 2026 she worked in private practice in Bahçelievler, and in 2026 she joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services.

Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Ergen’s practice is preventive and developmental care. This includes healthy child follow-up, monitoring of growth disorders in children, and the assessment and management of pediatric nutrition disorders. In the newborn period she provides newborn follow-up, newborn screening tests and neonatal jaundice treatment, drawing on her years of responsibility for neonatal intensive care services.

She also diagnoses and treats common acute and chronic conditions of childhood. These include upper respiratory tract infections in children, croup and other childhood infections, as well as constipation in children. Dr. Ergen evaluates and plans treatment for urinary incontinence in children and for iron deficiency and anemia in children. Where a child’s findings point to a condition outside general pediatrics, she can involve the relevant pediatric specialties at the hospital.

How Dr. Ergen works with international patients

Dr. Ergen speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who need them. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as ultrasound or X-ray reports, laboratory results, growth records, vaccination records and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and symptoms, a review of existing test results and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the possible options and follow-up. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their child’s situation before deciding whether to travel; the scope of such a consultation depends on the information available and does not replace an in-person examination where one is needed.
