Prof. Dr. Murat Sungur

Prof. Dr. Murat Sungur is an Internal Medicine specialist at Acibadem Kayseri Hospital in Kayseri, where he works in the Internal Medicine unit with a subspecialty in Functional Medicine. He then returned to Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine, where he was appointed Assistant Associate Professor in 2000, Associate Professor in 2003 and Professor in 2008, and served as Director of Intensive Care Units from 2000 to 2004 and again from 2008. Between 2004 and 2008 he was Associate Professor in the Department of Intensive Care at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2010. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Türk Toraks Association, the Turkish Nephrology Association, the Internal Medicine and Surgical Intensive Care Association and the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine. His published work covers topics such as face mask mechanical ventilation in hypercapnic acute respiratory failure, the effect of PEEP levels on central venous pressures, carbon dioxide elimination during mechanical ventilation, catheter lock solutions in acute hemodialysis catheters, and adhesion molecules in asthma.

In internal medicine, Dr. Sungur evaluates and follows patients with disorders of the blood, the endocrine system and the digestive tract.
