Perissa Seyed, MD

Perissa Seyed, MD is a radiologist with more than 31 years of experience in medicine. She sees patients at Acibadem Maslak Hospital in İstanbul, Türkiye, where she works in the Radiology unit. Within radiology, musculoskeletal radiology is a particular area of interest for Dr. Seyed. This subspecialty concerns imaging of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Her research fellowship at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) was dedicated to this field. In practice, musculoskeletal imaging is often requested when a patient has joint or bone complaints and the treating physician needs a clearer picture before deciding on a treatment plan. The findings are communicated to the referring clinician, who discusses them with the patient in the context of the overall clinical situation.

How Dr. Seyed works with international patients

Dr. Seyed speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who prefer another language. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination where relevant, and a discussion of the options. For patients travelling from abroad, a video consultation is available, which allows a patient to speak with Dr. Seyed before deciding whether to travel and to clarify which studies or documents should be gathered in advance.
