Selin Özcan, MD

Selin Özcan, MD is a pediatrician at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul, Türkiye, where she works in the Pediatrics unit. Well-child preventive care involves scheduled visits at which a child’s general health is reviewed, questions from the family are discussed and any concerns are noted for follow-up. How Dr. Özcan works with international patients

Dr. Özcan speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who prefer another language. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports, such as previous pediatric records, growth measurements, laboratory results, imaging reports and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and any symptoms, a review of existing records and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options that may be considered. Video consultation is available for international patients, which allows a family to speak with Dr. Özcan before deciding whether to travel to İstanbul; any recommendations made remotely are subject to confirmation at an in-person examination.
