Serap Sapmaz Deniz, MD

Serap Sapmaz Deniz, MD is a pediatrician with more than 15 years in medicine. She practices in the Pediatrics unit of Acibadem Maslak Hospital in İstanbul, where she cares for newborns, children and adolescents. Her work covers healthy-child follow-up, newborn care, the diagnosis and treatment of common childhood infections, and the assessment of growth and developmental concerns.

Dr. Deniz graduated from İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2011. Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Deniz's practice is healthy-child follow-up: routine visits at which growth, feeding, development and general health are reviewed over time. Within this framework she evaluates growth and developmental disorders in children, where the aim is to identify a possible cause and to plan further assessment or follow-up as needed. Her newborn work includes newborn screening tests and the evaluation and management of newborn jaundice, an area in which she gained experience as the responsible physician of a neonatal intensive care unit. She also assesses and treats rickets.

Dr. Deniz diagnoses and treats childhood infectious diseases. These include upper respiratory tract infections in children, croup and scarlet fever. Management depends on the child's age, symptoms and examination findings, and in many cases involves guidance for parents on what to watch for at home and when a re-evaluation is advisable.
