Sevda Berberoğlu, MD

Sevda Berberoğlu, MD is a pediatrician at Acibadem Bodrum Outpatient Clinic in Muğla, where she works in the Pediatrics unit. Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Berberoğlu’s practice concerns the first months and years of life. She provides newborn follow-up and evaluates infants with colic and gas pain, symptoms that are common but can be distressing for families. She also assesses lactose intolerance in infants and childhood nutritional disorders, considering feeding history, growth and symptoms before advising on management.

In older infants and children, she diagnoses and treats childhood infectious diseases, including croup, and evaluates recurrent fever patterns such as PFAPA syndrome. Her clinical interests also include iron deficiency and anemia in children and urinary incontinence in children. In each case, the approach is based on the child’s age, developmental stage, examination findings and any available test results, and management is adjusted as the child is followed over time.

How Dr. Berberoğlu works with international patients

Dr. Berberoğlu consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for families who speak other languages. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, for example ultrasound or X-ray reports, laboratory results and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the visit to the outpatient clinic. A first consultation typically covers the child’s history and symptoms, a review of existing test results and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options, with time for parents’ questions. For families abroad, a video consultation can be arranged to discuss a child’s symptoms and existing reports before deciding whether an in-person visit is appropriate; the scope of what can be assessed remotely depends on the individual case.
