Suat Özdek, MD

Suat Özdek, MD is a pediatrics specialist at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul, Türkiye, with more than 20 years in medicine. Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Özdek’s practice involves the first weeks and months of life. He provides newborn follow-up, in which feeding, weight gain and general development are reviewed, and he evaluates newborn jaundice, deciding whether bilirubin levels need monitoring or treatment. Parents also consult him about infant colic and infant gas pain, which are assessed to rule out other causes of discomfort and to offer guidance on feeding and soothing measures where appropriate.

For older infants and children, Dr. Özdek offers well-child follow-up, with periodic checks of growth, development and general health. He assesses childhood growth disorders and pediatric nutrition disorders, reviewing growth patterns, dietary history and any relevant test results before discussing further steps with the family. He also evaluates children with recurrent fever episodes for PFAPA syndrome, where the pattern of symptoms over time is an important part of the assessment.
