Süleyman Büber, MD is a Clinical Laboratory specialist at Acibadem Maslak Hospital in İstanbul. His co-authored papers include studies on adenosine deaminase and dipeptidyl peptidase-IV activities in cancerous and non-cancerous human gastric and colon tissues, on the effects of aqueous plant extracts and static magnetic fields on enzyme activity and oxidant/antioxidant parameters in gastric tissue, and on antioxidant status in migraine patients with brain white matter hyperintensities. These are laboratory-based studies and do not describe treatments offered to patients.

How Dr. Büber works with international patients

Dr. Büber works in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. The international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging, laboratory results and previous treatments, a clinical examination where relevant and a discussion of the options. Because Dr. Büber’s role is laboratory-based, his input is usually provided in coordination with the treating physician who is managing the patient’s care. Video consultation is available for international patients, which may be used, for example, to discuss existing laboratory findings or to clarify which tests may be relevant before a visit.
