Taner Bayraktar, MD

Taner Bayraktar, MD is an Emergency Medicine specialist working in the Emergency Service at Acibadem Maslak Hospital in İstanbul. Following the assessment, Dr. Bayraktar is responsible for emergency clinical management and acute care. This involves initiating appropriate treatment in the emergency setting, monitoring the patient’s response and coordinating with other departments when a patient requires further evaluation, admission or specialist input. Because emergency presentations vary widely, his approach is guided by the individual clinical picture rather than a fixed pathway, and decisions about ongoing care are made in discussion with the patient and, where relevant, other treating physicians.

How Dr. Bayraktar works with international patients

Dr. Bayraktar consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. For international patients, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior medical documentation, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and current symptoms, a review of any existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options. Video consultation is also available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation with Dr. Bayraktar before or instead of traveling, although the scope of what can be assessed remotely depends on the nature of the complaint and the information available.
