Assoc. Prof. Zuhal Atan Uçar, MD

Assoc. Prof. Zuhal Atan Uçar, MD is an Internal Medicine specialist with training in nephrology who practices at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul. Clinical focus

Dr. Uçar evaluates and manages a range of kidney diseases, including kidney failure, nephrotic syndrome, and diabetic nephropathy, a kidney complication that can develop in people with diabetes. She also follows patients with hydronephrosis, in which urine builds up in the kidney, and is involved in the assessment of patients with kidney cancer from an internal medicine and nephrology perspective. For patients whose kidney function has declined, her practice includes hemodialysis.

Beyond kidney-specific care, her internal medicine practice includes the diagnosis and follow-up of anemia, Behçet’s disease, and other chronic diseases that often require coordinated, long-term medical management. Treatment planning is based on each patient’s history, current test results, and overall clinical condition, and the appropriate approach may differ from one patient to another.

How Dr. Uçar works with international patients

Dr. Uçar speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who need them.
