Prof. Ahmet Onur Odabaşı, MD

Prof. Ahmet Onur Odabaşı, MD is an Ear Nose & Throat physician working in the Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) unit of Acibadem Health Group, which he joined in 2018. He has more than 39 years in medicine. He graduated from Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine in 1986 and, in the same year, held a scholarship at Goethe Institut Bremen. Between 1981 and 1989 he also studied at Izmir German Cultural Association. In 1987 he was at the Ministry of National Education Kütahya Health Education Center. From 1987 to 1991 he completed his Ear-Nose-Throat Diseases Specialization at SSK Yenişehir Training Hospital, and in 1991 he was at Izmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital in Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases.

His professional path includes service at Kyrenia-TRNC Military Hospital from 1992 to 1993, followed by posts as an Otorhinolaryngology Specialist at Mugla State Hospital from 1993 to 1994 and again from 1995 to 1996. Between these two periods he completed a Research and Clinical Fellowship at Columbia University St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital from 1994 to 1995. From 1996 to 1998 he worked at Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ear-Nose-Throat in an Asst.Assoc. position. He then undertook an Otology-Neurotology Clinical Fellowship at University of Miami School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology Ear Institute from 1998 to 2000. Dr. Odabaşı is a member of the Turkish Society of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, an Associate Member of the American Neurotology Society, a Corresponding Member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and President of the Turkish Otorhinolaryngology Foundation – Izmir Branch.

Dr. Odabaşı’s listed areas of expertise cover ear diseases, nose diseases and throat diseases, together with otologic and neurotologic disorders. His fellowship training in otology and neurotology relates to conditions of the ear and its connection to hearing and balance pathways, which is reflected in his clinical profile.
