Endodontic treatment aims to remove the infected tissue, clean and shape the root canal system and seal it, so that the natural tooth can be kept where this is appropriate. He also manages fractured teeth, where the extent and position of the fracture are evaluated before a decision is made about whether the tooth can be restored and, if so, by which method.

On the restorative side, Dr. Maviş treats enamel loss and places dental fillings to repair teeth affected by decay, wear or minor damage. For larger defects, he uses porcelain inlays and onlays, which are laboratory-made restorations bonded to the prepared tooth. Digital CAD/CAM dentistry is part of his workflow: the tooth is scanned, the restoration is designed on a computer and then milled, which supports precise fitting of the final piece. The choice between a filling, an inlay or an onlay depends on how much healthy tooth structure remains, the position of the tooth and the patient’s overall dental condition, and these options are discussed with the patient during assessment.

How Dr. Maviş works with international patients

Dr. Maviş consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior dental reports and imaging, such as X-ray or CT reports, notes on previous fillings, root canal treatments or other dental work, and any laboratory results, and it arranges appointments and organises the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and current symptoms, a review of existing imaging and earlier treatments, a clinical examination of the teeth and surrounding tissues, and a discussion of the possible options, with attention to preserving and restoring the tooth where this is appropriate.
