Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Titiz

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Titiz is an otorhinolaryngology specialist in the Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) unit at Acibadem Ankara Hospital in Ankara, with a subspecialty in head and neck surgery. His clinical work covers ear, nose and throat conditions in adults and children, including hearing loss, vertigo and balance disorders, and surgery of the nose, sinuses, tonsils, adenoids and middle ear. He has more than 33 years in medicine.

Dr. Titiz graduated from İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1993. From 1993 to 1997 he trained as an assistant doctor at the Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital 1st ENT Clinic and completed his training in Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital in 1997. In 1996 he completed a clinical fellowship at Gruppo Otologico. He served as a medical lieutenant at Erzincan Military Hospital (1998–1999) and worked as a specialist doctor at Polatlı State Hospital (1998–2003), the Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital 1st ENT Clinic (2003–2012), Private Ekol ENT Hospital (2012–2013) and Private Veni Vidi Çağ Hospital (2013), before joining Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2014. He is a member of the Türk Rinoloji Association, the Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck Surgery Association, the Pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat and Head and Neck Surgery Association, the Otoloji, Nöro-Otoloji Association, the European Rhinologic Society and the Turkish Ear, Nose and Throat and Head and Neck Surgery Association. He has co-authored publications on topics including bone damage in chronic otitis media, sensorineural hearing loss after radiotherapy for head and neck tumors, changing indications for endoscopic sinonasal surgery and postoperative analgesia following septoplasty.

Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Titiz’s practice concerns the nose and sinuses. He performs septoplasty for a deviated nasal septum, septorhinoplasty when functional and structural correction of the nose are addressed together, and other forms of nasal and sinus surgery. In the throat, his areas of expertise include pharyngitis, tonsil surgery and adenoid surgery, which are frequently relevant to pediatric patients.

His ear-related work includes the assessment of hearing loss in adults and of pediatric hearing loss, middle ear surgery, and the evaluation of vertigo and balance disorders. As a head and neck surgeon, he also evaluates and treats conditions of the head and neck region. The appropriate approach in each case depends on the patient’s findings, and treatment options are discussed only after clinical examination and review of the relevant test results.

Dr. Titiz speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
