Within cardiovascular surgery, Dr. Karaağaç has co-authored peer-reviewed publications with colleagues from his training hospital. These papers, published in The Heart Surgery Forum and the Turkish Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, address topics such as a surgical approach for aortic root aneurysm with a small aortic annulus, an arterial cannulation technique through the aortic anastomosis, open heart surgery performed at the patient’s own temperature without active cooling, open cardiac surgery without blood and blood product transfusion, and the repair of chronic type 1 aortic dissection in a patient with a coronary artery anomaly. He has also contributed to case reports on an aortic valve papillary fibroelastoma and on stent embolism after coronary angiography.

His practice also includes vascular surgery and varicose vein treatment. How Dr. Karaağaç works with international patients

Dr. Karaağaç consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as CT, MRI or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
