Atilla Damlacık, MD

Atilla Damlacık, MD is a radiologist at Acibadem Dr. Sinasi Can (Kadikoy) Hospital in İstanbul, where he works within the hospital’s Radiology unit. Dr. Damlacık attended Bornova Anadolu High School from 1969 to 1976 and studied medicine at Ege University Faculty of Medicine between 1976 and 1982. His professional experience began at Samed Imaging Center, where he worked from 1989 to 1995, followed by Işık Medicine from 1995 to 1997. Dr. Damlacık’s clinical interests lie in cross-sectional and non-invasive imaging. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and tomography are used to obtain detailed images of organs, soft tissues and other structures, which can support diagnosis and help in planning further evaluation or treatment. Ultrasonographic imaging is a non-invasive examination that does not use ionizing radiation and is frequently used in the assessment of many organ systems. Multidetector CT colonography, also referred to as virtual colonoscopy, is a CT-based examination of the colon that produces two- and three-dimensional images of the large bowel. It may be considered in selected patients as an alternative or complement to conventional colonoscopy, depending on the clinical situation and the judgment of the referring physician. The choice of imaging method is made on an individual basis, taking into account the clinical question, the patient’s history and any previous examinations. Imaging findings are interpreted in the context of the overall clinical picture, and further tests or specialist consultation may be recommended where appropriate.

How Dr. Damlacık works with international patients

Dr. Damlacık speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who need support in other languages.
