Aysel Özkaynak, MD

Dr. Özkaynak graduated from İstanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2009. In 2010 she worked in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ministry of Health Bakırköy Dr Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital, and from 2010 to 2014 at Ministry of Health Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital, completing her Obstetrics and Gynecology training at Istanbul Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital in 2014. In the same year she gained experience at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital in the USA. From 2014 to 2017 she worked in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ministry of Health Bakırköy Public Hospitals Union Obstetrics, Gynecology and Children’s Diseases Hospital, and in 2017 she joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services. In 2022 she completed Practical Laparoscopic Anatomy for Advanced Gynecological Techniques at IRCAD in Strasbourg, France. She is a member of the Gynecological Endoscopy Association, the Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Association, the Turkish Gynecology and Obstetrics Association, the Turkish Medical Association, UKSEAD International Women’s Health Education and Research Association and the Europian Society of Gynaecologic Endoscopy (ESGE).

Clinical focus

A central part of Dr. Özkaynak’s practice is endometriosis treatment, together with the assessment and management of pelvic pain, menstrual pain and menstrual irregularities. Her training in laparoscopic anatomy for gynecological techniques relates to this area of work. She also evaluates and treats women with polycystic ovary syndrome, and her practice includes HPV-related care and urogynecology.

Dr. Özkaynak provides menopause care, addressing symptoms and health considerations that arise during and after the menopausal transition. In obstetrics, her areas of expertise include epidural birth.
