Babak Hekmatjou, MD is an Emergency Service physician at Acibadem Bodrum Hospital in Muğla. Dr. Hekmatjou has a further interest in drowning-related emergencies and the respiratory problems that can accompany them, including acute hypoxia, in which the body’s tissues do not receive enough oxygen. How Dr. Hekmatjou works with international patients

Dr. Hekmatjou consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. For international patients, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and organizes appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination, and a discussion of the available options. Video consultation is available for international patients for questions that do not require immediate in-person assessment; acute emergencies are evaluated directly in the hospital’s Emergency Service.
